*+Our Matariki lesson*+

Today in our class we had a special visitor whaea Ali,and she was teaching us more about Matariki.We were talking about the benefits of this balm we were making.Our main ingredient was coconut oil,we used a whole ton of coconut oil.It melted REAL quick. Whaea Ali told us a story of Matariki,she told us about matariki with 9 stars.She told us that there was different story's about matariki some people believe that there are 7 stars some believe 9.We also are making progress in this song she is teaching us.When we were learning about the song she put up a video clip that these girls sing the song.They were singing it really fast but we did hear it pretty clearly.We smelled these awesome sents,well only a few and some smelled like medicine.They had really strong smell to them.The sents we smelled  was lavender,and there was this other one.We had a ton of fun and we learnt a lot more about matariki.  

REACH

This year our school is working on REACH.R is for resilient,E for excellent,A for achievers,and c for co-operative,H is for holistic.We are reaching for the stars,as in reaching to get higher in learning,and always trying our best. :) 

+*+Our Easter Art!+*+

In our class last year we made amazing art about Jesus on Easter day.We first got to chose something that relates to Jesus on Easter day.Our whole class did three crosses.Then we used pastel,but black So it stands out.Then we used dye for our background.Others did light some did stormy colours. We all enjoyed doing this art. :)

W.A.L.T make things with different material 
A few weeks ago our class made clay art! we created things that relate to our family.I made a 3D heart because i love my family,The koru represents my family.It was my first time playing and creating with clay.I had a fun experience with clay,other people did things that relate to them or relate to New Zealand.We first had a play with the clay,well I did.I didn't really know that much about clay.But i had my friend poppy there to guide me through. Everyone's creations were amazing! It was definitely a life time memory.

ANZAC day!

W.A.L.T Be in others shoes

In our class we have been learning about ANZAC day,and we wrote letters as if we were in the war.
We had to really think how it would be like.back in world war one,they couldn't add to much detail,they would have to lie and say  its ok im doing fine.But really its horrible.so our class made letters as if we were soldiers,and our teacher said we can add as much detail as we like.After we finished our writing we made poppys! we used a type of material like scrunched up paper.We would add black in the middle like a poppy.Also red just like a poppy.We truly enjoyed it.

Our Art project, hope sunflowers

 In our class we made hope sunflowers.Hope sunflowers means believing and being positive. We had lots of fun doing these sunflowers. Everyone's were very unique and we had big ones,and small ones!But we also made these sunflowers on Marcellin day. This day is important to our school because of st marcellin  champagnat. We all enjoyed doing these hope sunflowers.We first got hard paper and folded it into three.Then when the paint dried we cut them into petals.We can cut them anyway we want.! It was really cool.We had a ton of fun!
