This  year has been a blast! I have learnt so much this whole year,the privileges I've gotten like camp have been an amazing experience to have I've tried so much things and had fun with.This year I've made 3 New Friends that will always be my friends.Term 4 we did the production,Year 8 candle lighting.It was a sad thing for our teachers.My Highlights this Year are...
Literacy Contracts- I really enjoyed Doing contracts because I found it hard and challenging and it's really enjoyable.

Art- this year's  art was so much fun,and there's always a learning to it which makes it interesting .

Those are my main Highlights for this whole year I have so many.

Last  week   year 6,7 and 8's went to camp as well as year 5's I had a lot of enjoyable moments  at camp.

(1 Ditch tag 

Me and my friends played tag by this ditch and we played tag around it jumped over it and had so much fun!

I really enjoyed playing games by the beach very fun!

(3 Thundering storms 

It was a very terrifying night but it's pretty 

amazing what the clouds/sky can do.

It was really fun doing kayaking and trying a new thing

I really liked the amazing race it was so much fun.

Year 6,7 and 8's went surfing on Thursday I really enjoyed  surfing because I've never done it before.I heard the waves splashing around me waves soaring. Ok I thought to myself I can do this.I got help from jack and woosh! There I go it was so much fun I was going like the speed of light.My best friend Tiana stood up on the board! Finally I tried and...I fell over of course.But we had two groups so then we got to do surfing in the morning.There was amazing waves in the morning block.We were surfing for 2-3 hours i'm not so sure.After the next group went surfing and we got to swim in the lake and play in the beach! I really enjoyed surfing.

  What is Advent?
Advent is a season seen in many christian churches as a time of returning  of the birth of Jesus.

Symbols of Advent

1. The Advent wreath is one of the best known symbols of Advent the evergreen circle is a symbol for forever life.

2. Advent candles are usually comprised of three purple candles with one rose or pink.The candles recall the weeks that pass.

3 An Advent calendar shows the passing of Advent.

4. Each candle represents and emotion.

Suzanne Aubert Prayer

In our class we have been looking around Suzanne Aubert's traits and when we choose one of her traits we then write a prayer about her.Suzanne Aubert is a Saint in New Zealand her Nationality is New Zealand and French.She was born on 19th June 1835,passed away at 1st October 1926.Her other names were Sister Mary Joseph  and Mother Aubert.

In our class we have been doing poems! Like haiku  poems and acrostic poems I decided to do acrostic poem I had a lot of fun doing this!

It was tricky.I also did some haiku's.A haiku is a poem with syllables
So you first start with 5 syllables and then 7 and back to 5 only three sentences.Like try it with your own name. PRI-YAN-CI I have 3 syllables you can try it out yourself and see how much syllables you have in your name here are a few haiku's I've done so far😀

                                        I'M A GOOGLE NINJA!!!

Today our class did the google doc ninja challenge! I am now a google doc ninja😃! I am very proud of my self the black belt was very challenging😐. I most enjoyed doing the green belt,most. I have learnt a lot of things to do in my device.We got the idea of doing this from our buddy class Matawai school. Because they also did a post about their google doc ninjas! I really enjoyed this task and reading their experience with their day of doing it!

😊Our school did Athletics Last week.


Year 6 first did sprinting I was very nervous about sprinting...
But the year 5's did it with us so they had to go first so the year 6's had to wait a while,finally it was our turn my heart was beating fast...ON YOUR MARKS GET SET GO! Swoosh! I was panting like forever! Finally I was at the finish line.Relieved i was done.Our next activity was long jump  I was excited to do this it's really fun! Long jump is where you run as fast as you can and you jump on sand and they record how far you jumped.It was probably my second favourite thing to do out of the day you'll see why :) Our next activity was High Jump which was a bar that you have to scissor kick over i can't do it i can't even jump over the bar.....So i ended up helping.Next was hurdles this was my favourite it was so much fun! We got to go under hurdles jump over hurdles.After we have done all of our activity's the relays! I didn't want to compete in it this year but it was very fun to watch!

Last week on Friday some of the students from my school joined in the colour run.Me and my friends were all so excited to be all coloured even if we had to run 5 km because we could walk if we like .First we did some  funny exercise with some funny music which made it so funny.After that the race was about to begin I was nervous when they were counting down...3,2,1 GO! Everyone was racing speeding my heart was pounding.The first colour we were coloured in was yellow didn't get much colour from yellow...But we had 4 more stations! There were so much kids behind me and in front of me I had no idea where my friends were! I kinda got a little tired so i started to walk.I started to jog a little and i found my friends! We were entering the purple station i got a lot of purple! Hooray! After a few station me and my friends just walked cause we were exhausted.Then my heart was pounding in excitement! THERE WAS A PINK STATION I ran like i never did before.I tried to get as much as i can i did hooray!


After the race we just sat down so tired....
After a while they were giving out well chucking out prices unfortunately i didn't get one but i was happy anyways 😃

Have you been to the Far North?

But all around New Zealand  has beautiful scenery. What i think is special to me here is the Sand Dunes it always is fun with my family and it's very pretty and fun slide down on and just chill out and sit in the warm sand.I'm very lucky to actually to see so much sand and not much people can.

Last week on Wednesday we made beeswax wraps to stop our habit of using plastic.Because plastic is horrible for our earth and our marine life and our land animals.We got to decorate our own beeswax wraps! It was really exciting.A teacher that teaches us about how bad plastic is and what solutions we could do to save our animals and the oceans.I think this is a great way to change our ways of using plastic.This week is  for our lunches is to not use plastic and we can use

Term 4 is here! I am excited for all the fun learning and activity's this term.This term i'm looking forward to more art activity's,more maths and more crafting.I'm really excited about our school athletics.In our school athletics we are doing high jump,spiriting,shotput and long jump.My favourite is sprinting,but my least favourite is high jump.This term we are also doing production,which is our whole school dances in front of the stage.Each class dances to a song.I'm so excited about this term it's jam packed!

This term is been amazing!

This term i have enjoyed writing newspaper articles,information reports and just writing in general.I have been doing well to achieve my goals i have been trying pretty hard to achieve them.This term we have been learning a lot about what our devices can do! We have made amazing animations which is VERY fun to do.We learnt how to make our blogs the way we like it.We could do back rounds,colours,changing our fonts!! And we got more options to our fonts.This term we have been doing more maths,like multiplicative thinking,more basic facts learning.


This term we also have been doing a lot of different writing like newspaper reports,information reports i really enjoyed doing articles about our school and our class.So that parents know what our school and class have been doing. I have really been enjoying doing different types of writing. We wrote an information report about wetas. It was really interesting learning about wetas and how long it has live for which is a VERY long time. I have learnt that an newspaper reporter doesn't use wow words they use sweet and simple words.


We have been doing a lot of R.E/religious education this term. We have been doing a massive candle with team work. Lot's of fun things and we have learnt a lot about god,Jesus,and the holy spirit. I have always loved doing R.E and i loved it this term.This term we also did cross country run! This term has been a lot of fun,excitement and so much things i have learnt.I can not wait till term 4.

careers quiz

Last week on Thursday did a careers quiz! What we had to do is we had to tell our interest and what we like.There were questions like..."how interested are you in gardening,plants,flowers.Then we got options,like....No interest,neutral,fairly interested,very interested.There were 78 questions! It took us a while to finish,some kids didn't get to finish of sadly.I was hoping to get an artist cause i really want to become one.When i checked i got an artist!!!! and all different types of artist.This is a great way to see our interest and see what the outcomes are! I really enjoyed this.I got 26 job options!!! But i can't remember all of them.

In kakapo class we have been doing an animation for a quality blog post.We did what you need for a quality blog comment.This was a lot of fun i enjoyed doing the scene and adding the animals.What i found changeling was to move the animals around it was quiet difficult.

why we are learning more about newspaper?
we are learning about the newspapers because newspapers from the olden days have a lot of information from the past.Also the newspapers today! News papers tell us about...Deaths,current events,sports,weather,places that we want to go,New Zealand native birds,plants,areas.Newspapers tells us a lot of things.Without newspapers we would not know what would be around us.

What a news report needs:
-headline
-lead paragraph
-body paragraph
-by line
-all the W'S who,when,where,why and if you want witch.


 if you have all of these then your news report will be successful.

+*Our newspaper scavenger hunt+*

Last week on our contracts we did a scavenger hunt but on newspaper! So you may be wondering what this is about! Our teacher did this so we can tell the difference between everyday writing and newspaper writing.We got to choose what newspaper we want after when we choose we cant change it,it was pretty difficult but it was quiet fun.I did find interesting facts that i read for a while.But it was a can do so i did it on Friday. :) Now i know what i need to find in the newspaper.


It was a fun task i can not wait for more :)

Word of the day!

in our class we have been doing word of the day on our contracts,if you don't know what i'm talking about,about contacts go check out the blog i made about our contacts! On this weeks contracts we got do to word of the day.We got to choose what word we would like to do for the day! I choose ROAM so what you do with that word you find the:

-definition
-Synonym
-Antonym
-Part of speech (example roam is a verb)
-Put the word into a sentence


And we do that with all the words.Here are the words we do this week:

ive done tenacious and roam so i have 3 to go!  this is improving our vocab! 

Ice skating fun!

Swoosh Swoosh! others were skating and have the time of their life.On the other hand i was terrified if i fell over,and how hurtful it could of been.I tried letting go of the barrier,but my nerves were pulling me back.But my friends were there to help me and help me.They helped me a lot,but after a while woosh! i could do it! all i did was i glided and i just bended my knees and then i knew that wouldn't  fall over,and that's  exactly what happened :) My best friend was a natural at skating! she was amazing.She did fall over a few times but it was ok.Mostly everyone in my class fell over except a few.The only reason why i didn't fall over is because i was VERY careful of myself.But it was really enjoyable.Sadly it was only once.I wish it was every week... 

It was a life time opportunity!

Kakapo contracts!

In kakapo class we do contracts! contracts are tasks but we get to choose what we should do.We have can dos and must dos,but must dos come first because they are important tasks.We get 8 task sometimes more or less.We have to try the best of our ability to finish our contracts with level 3 or level 4 standard.We have been doing contracts for quiet some time.We get a range of tasks,but they all relate to learning even if its art we normally find facts about an artist who is famous for art.Contracts are a privilege and i love it! i can not wait till future contracts!

Vocab cross-word!

Last week on our contracts we did tricky vocab cross-words.Our teacher did this as a task because to make our vocab improve and better.It was quiet hard but when you put your mind into it it's really not that hard.What i have learnt from this is,"always changeling yourself!"  

Bread and butter

Last week we made butter and bread.Our class made butter and bread because of science and NZ history.We used a plastic bag and mixed and mixed it was quiet difficult but we made through our challenges.We put the bread in for 25 minutes it was delicious! then we made butter yum!.I really enjoyed this learning experience.

On Wednesday,last week we went to Te Ahu  for a trip! we visited the museum.There we saw a lot of awesome history! The lady who looks after the museum gave us a piece of paper,and we had to find things on the piece of paper.Like we had to find a kiwi egg it was a pretty large egg.In our team  we had to think of a team name! Our  name was Te Ahu rocks! we didn't really know what our name would be...after a while we got to feel kauri gum! it felt smooth and to me it smelt like honey.Then we all sat down and the lady asked us some questions! the museum had awesome articles it was REALLY interesting! It was a fun day!!

In our class we have been doing travel brochures about far north.We had to add places to go,things to do,sight seeing,places to dine in.Also some far north history.The main purpose of doing travel brochures is to persuade people to come to far north! we folded A4 paper  into three pieces,and then you can start your brochures.

*+Our dragon math*+

In our class we have been doing some dragon maths! our teacher is doing dragon maths because it is really challenging and the dragon math is mental maths. which means its fast math. Last week was our first dragon maths.Our teacher said that if we don't know the question understanding it.We put it on the board,and there was a lot on the board.So we went through it,it made a lot more sense and some were so long and REALLY tricky! but we persevered though tricky problems.We used different strategies like plus,multiplication,times tables,subtract.There were really tricky questions like i said earlier and i will be showing you some.Tell me down in the comments if you can guess these!

What is dragon math?
dragon math is a mental math that helps you think fast and help you use different strategies.I really enjoy doing dragon math usually it says time yourself but we are new to dragon maths so we didn't time ourselves.The main purpose is that we use our brain actively around math.

W.A.L.T Write an reflection about our past terms.

In our past terms,we have done a ton of learning.What my favourite learning and activity's were the ANZAC write letters home.What i really loved about that learning was how we really had to deep think about it.Another one of my favourite was,the NZ history.I was always wanted to know about history.In our class we did make a timeline.In term 1 we did some art with maths!.We used shapes,patterns,and much more! We displayed them in our class wall.We read a book about the one and only ivan.based on a true story.We did worksheets,activity's and much more! i can not wait till term 3 :)    

*+Our Matariki lesson*+

Today in our class we had a special visitor whaea Ali,and she was teaching us more about Matariki.We were talking about the benefits of this balm we were making.Our main ingredient was coconut oil,we used a whole ton of coconut oil.It melted REAL quick. Whaea Ali told us a story of Matariki,she told us about matariki with 9 stars.She told us that there was different story's about matariki some people believe that there are 7 stars some believe 9.We also are making progress in this song she is teaching us.When we were learning about the song she put up a video clip that these girls sing the song.They were singing it really fast but we did hear it pretty clearly.We smelled these awesome sents,well only a few and some smelled like medicine.They had really strong smell to them.The sents we smelled  was lavender,and there was this other one.We had a ton of fun and we learnt a lot more about matariki.  

REACH

This year our school is working on REACH.R is for resilient,E for excellent,A for achievers,and c for co-operative,H is for holistic.We are reaching for the stars,as in reaching to get higher in learning,and always trying our best. :)

In our class last year we made amazing art about Jesus on Easter day.We first got to chose something that relates to Jesus on Easter day.Our whole class did three crosses.Then we used pastel,but black So it stands out.Then we used dye for our background.Others did light some did stormy colours. We all enjoyed doing this art. :)

A few weeks ago our class made clay art! we created things that relate to our family.I made a 3D heart because i love my family,The koru represents my family.It was my first time playing and creating with clay.I had a fun experience with clay,other people did things that relate to them or relate to New Zealand.We first had a play with the clay,well I did.I didn't really know that much about clay.But i had my friend poppy there to guide me through. Everyone's creations were amazing! It was definitely a life time memory.

ANZAC day!

W.A.L.T Be in others shoes

In our class we have been learning about ANZAC day,and we wrote letters as if we were in the war.
We had to really think how it would be like.back in world war one,they couldn't add to much detail,they would have to lie and say  its ok im doing fine.But really its horrible.so our class made letters as if we were soldiers,and our teacher said we can add as much detail as we like.After we finished our writing we made poppys! we used a type of material like scrunched up paper.We would add black in the middle like a poppy.Also red just like a poppy.We truly enjoyed it.

Our Art project, hope sunflowers

 In our class we made hope sunflowers.Hope sunflowers means believing and being positive. We had lots of fun doing these sunflowers. Everyone's were very unique and we had big ones,and small ones!But we also made these sunflowers on Marcellin day. This day is important to our school because of st marcellin  champagnat. We all enjoyed doing these hope sunflowers.We first got hard paper and folded it into three.Then when the paint dried we cut them into petals.We can cut them anyway we want.! It was really cool.We had a ton of fun!
